Art & Design at Sherburn CE Primary Academy

At Sherburn, our Art and Design curriculum is a creative expression of our motto: ‘Look up, Aim high and Shine bright.’ We believe that every child is created with unique gifts, and our mission is to provide an inspiring, courageous space where they can take risks, fuel their ambitions, and celebrate their individuality. Through a rich journey of trial and error, our pupils learn that art is about the process of discovery—developing perseverance as they explore everything from traditional painting to architecture and ceramics. By researching diverse artists and mastering new techniques, our children grow in confidence, learning to communicate their thoughts and feelings while appreciating the beauty in the world around them and the creative work of others.
